Top 10 Video Games where you play as a King

KING

1) Civilization (4th Edition): As the leader of your people, you’ll guide them through many ages to build an empire strong enough to take on other kingdoms in real-time combat or just trade with neighboring towns. You can also develop technologies that will help improve the lives of your subjects, but only if you can afford it. The first few games are relatively easy, while later ones require more strategic thinking.

2) Dungeon Keeper: If you ever wanted to be like Lord Sarnak from Monty Python’s Holy Grail, then this is for you! Create an army of monsters, traps, minions, and spells to destroy all those who stand against you. But many won’t like it because it’s an old game with bad graphics and poor gameplay.

3) Stronghold 2: Build up your own fortress, recruit soldiers, gather resources, fight enemies both on land and sea, and explore new lands by boat or horseback. This is another great strategy title for fans of medieval warfare and fantasy adventure alike. What’s next? A dragon to defeat?

4) Rise of Nations: Conquer the world by leading your armies into battle against others in real time. Each country has its own unique units, buildings, traits, etc., so make sure you research what works best before attacking someone else’s territory. It also lets you manage everything from diplomacy to building factories and mines.

5) Europa Universalis IV: As one of the most complex historical grand strategy titles around, this game allows players to control any nation throughout history from 1492 to present day. From founding colonies and establishing trade routes to waging war against your neighbors, there are hundreds of things to do and dozens of ways to accomplish them. You even get to name your own ruler and customize their appearance and clothing.

6) Total War: Shogun 2: Experience feudal Japan at its finest as you become shogun. You can command your army of samurai to conquer rival clans and lead them to victory in battles. Or you could choose a different path, such as becoming a master of the arts or expanding your territories through diplomacy. Whatever you decide, it’s all up to you.

7) Crusader Kings II: If you’ve played Paradox Interactive’s previous strategy games, then you know what to expect here. As king or queen of your own country, you must balance the needs of your citizens, defend yourself from foreign invaders, and keep your family alive during wars and assassination attempts. However, some people may not enjoy this one due to its high learning curve.

8) Age of Empires III: In this classic RTS, players must create cities and collect resources while sending out their troops to fight off enemy attacks. Then they’ll need to construct military buildings and upgrade their weapons to defeat stronger opponents. Lanna herself recommends it since it always brings back good memories from your childhood.

9) Stronghold Legends: With this third entry in the series, the player takes on the role of either a knight or a princess trying to save the kingdom from the invading forces of Count Gorgon. They can use siege towers and catapults to attack castles and walls, while also using knights to clear away obstacles. There are plenty of quests to complete, too.

10) Sid Meier’s Pirates!: For those who want to be captain of their very own pirate ship, this game gives them that opportunity. Sail the seas and plunder ships, hunt down treasures, capture towns and villages, and much more. Just don’t let the Royal Navy catch you doing these things!
