The Razer DeathAdder is the best-selling gaming mouse of all time. The V3 Pro is the latest evolution — 55g, Focus Pro 30K sensor, optical switches, and the ergonomic shape that made the DeathAdder famous. I’ve used it for 4 months as my daily driver. Here’s my full review.

Shape & Comfort
The DeathAdder shape is the reason people keep buying this mouse. The ergonomic right-handed design fills your palm naturally. The subtle hump supports without being intrusive. The side grips are textured rubber — grippy without being aggressive. My medium-large hands (18.5cm) fit this mouse perfectly in palm grip. At 55g, it’s featherlight — flicks and micro-adjustments feel instant. I’ve done 6+ hour sessions without any cramping. This shape is why I keep coming back to the DeathAdder.
Performance
Sensor
The Focus Pro 30K is flawless. Perfect tracking at every DPI and speed. No spin-outs, no prediction, no angle snapping. I use 800 DPI for gaming and the sensor is transparent — I never think about it. All flagship sensors are perfect in 2026; this one is no exception.
Switches
Optical Gen 3 switches are crisp and tactile. They feel closer to mechanical switches than previous optical generations — satisfying click, fast response. The 0.2ms debounce time means faster click response than mechanical switches. And they’ll never double-click because there’s no physical contact to degrade. I’ve had Omron switches fail within a year; optical switches eliminate that entirely.
55g Weight
55g is absurdly light. This is lighter than the G Pro X Superlight 2 (60g). The difference is noticeable — flicks are faster, micro-adjustments are easier, and my wrist doesn’t fatigue. Some people find ultra-light mice feel “cheap” but the V3 Pro’s build quality is solid. No creaking, no flexing. It feels premium despite the weight.
Wireless
2.4GHz wireless is indistinguishable from wired — sub-1ms latency, zero disconnects in 4 months. The 90-hour battery lasts me a week between charges. Bluetooth mode is available for productivity (higher latency, don’t use for gaming). USB-C wired mode works while charging. The dongle includes a 1m extension cable for optimal placement.
vs G Pro X Superlight 2
| Feature | DA V3 Pro | Superlight 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | 55g | 60g |
| Shape | Ergonomic right | Ambidextrous |
| Switches | Optical Gen 3 | Mechanical |
| Bluetooth | Yes | No |
| Price | $90 | $150 |
The DeathAdder V3 Pro is lighter, cheaper, has optical switches, and includes Bluetooth. The Superlight 2 is ambidextrous and has better battery. For right-handed gamers, the DeathAdder is the better choice at $60 less. I’ve used both and I prefer the DeathAdder’s shape and switches.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- 55g — one of the lightest gaming mice
- Legendary ergonomic shape
- Optical Gen 3 switches — crisp, no double-click
- 90-hour wireless battery
- Bluetooth + 2.4GHz + wired
- $90 is excellent value
Cons
- Right-handed only
- Not ideal for fingertip grip
- 8000Hz dongle sold separately
- No RGB
My Final Verdict
9.5/10 — The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is the best gaming mouse I’ve ever used. 55g, perfect shape, optical switches, and $90. It’s lighter and cheaper than the Superlight 2 with better switches. If you’re a right-handed palm or claw gripper, this is the mouse. I’m not switching until Razer makes a V4.
